for Users

THIS AGREEMENT IS DEEMED CONCLUDED ONCE THE USER HAS PAID THE APPLICABLE COMMUNITY FEE. BY ENTERING INTO THIS AGREEMENT, THE USER CONFIRMS THAT THEY HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THEIR ENTIRETY AND AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THEM.

‍1. Company Information
‍
‍The service is operated by a sole proprietorship registered in Berlin, Germany — Kokhan V. (Einzelunternehmen). For the purpose of this Agreement, “the service” refers to “CVtruth” or “the Service”.

2. Service Description
‍
CVtruth provides a peer-based CV review service where private individuals (“Peer Reviewers”) from relevant professional fields offer peer feedback on submitted CVs. Peer Reviewers are not recruiters or employers but individuals who are actively working in their industries and may be involved in hiring processes at their companies. All Peer Reviewers are vetted and approved by CVtruth in accordance with its internal peer reviewer policy.

The scope of the Service includes:
‍
• Matching the CV with an available Peer Reviewer from CVtruth’s vetted peer reviewer community.
• A single, pre-recorded video review, focused solely on the CV submitted.
• Delivery of a pre-recorded video review, accessible to the User via a secure, private link.

The Service does not include:
‍
• While Peer Reviewers may naturally review links embedded in the resume (e.g. GitHub, portfolio, LinkedIn) and share some relevant feedback, you should not expect a detailed review of such external content, cover letters, or additional documents unless they are explicitly requested as an add-on.
• Live interaction with the Peer Reviewer or follow-up questions are basically not offered, unless separately agreed as an add-on.

To protect privacy, all Peer Reviewer identities are anonymized. Users will not receive personal information about Peer Reviewers, such as their full names, contact details, or current place of work. However, Users will receive an anonymized summary of the Peer Reviewer’s profile, including general information about the Peer Reviewer’s seniority level, area of expertise, and current employment sector, to help Users understand the context and relevance of the feedback provided.

3. Service Delivery and Timelines

The CVtruth Service follows a structured process consisting of the following stages:
‍
1) Order Placement: The User places an order by submitting their CV via the CVtruth platform and completing payment of the community fee. Once the payment is completed, the agreement becomes binding.
‍
2) Processing Time: After payment confirmation, CVtruth initiates the matching process by assigning a suitable Peer Reviewer from its vetted community. The average processing time is up to three (3) business days (Germany) from the date of payment. CVtruth makes every reasonable effort to deliver within this timeframe. Slight delays may occur due to Peer Reviewer availability or unforeseen operational factors. In the rare event that the review cannot be delivered within 10 calendar days, CVtruth will notify the User and offer either a revised delivery estimate or a full refund.

3) Report Delivery and Acceptance: The completed review is provided as a video recording (typically 10-15 minutes in length, or slightly more) and shared with the User via a private, secure link. Users are notified by email upon delivery.

4. Responsibilities and Obligations

CVtruth’s Responsibilities:
‍
• Service Execution: CVtruth is responsible for processing each order according to the scope, terms, and timelines defined in this Agreement.
• Peer Reviewer Vetting: CVtruth maintains internal policies and procedures to vet and approve Peer Reviewers based on their professional background and involvement in hiring processes. CVtruth ensures that Peer Reviewers act in accordance with ethical standards, including fairness, non-discrimination, and professionalism.
• Anonymity and Privacy: CVtruth ensures that all Peer Reviewer identities remain anonymized and that User's personal data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
• Video Confidentiality: CVtruth ensures that the CV review videos are stored securely and are not accessible to any third party, except for the Peer Reviewer who created the review and authorized CVtruth personnel for quality and support purposes.
• Quality Monitoring: While CVtruth does not edit or alter review content, it monitors Peer Reviewer activity and community practices to maintain a constructive and respectful standard of peer feedback.
• Notification of Limited Information: If a User chooses to submit a minimised or partially anonymised CV (e.g., with hidden name or links), CVtruth will inform the assigned Peer Reviewer about the limited data available, so expectations can be managed accordingly.

User’s Responsibilities:

• Accurate and Timely Submission: The User is responsible for providing a valid and up-to-date CV—either in full, minimised, or partially anonymised form—along with any other required information, within the timeline specified. Delays in submission may result in service cancellation with partial refund.
• Respectful Communication: The User agrees to engage respectfully with CVtruth support and with the review process.
• Appropriate Use of Feedback: The User acknowledges that the review is peer-based and advisory in nature, and agrees to use the feedback for personal development and job-seeking purposes only.
• No Misuse of Service: The User must not use the platform for purposes other than intended (e.g., gathering competitor data, testing Peer Reviewers, or publishing review content without CVtruth’s consent).

5. Payment Terms, Fees and Taxes

Community Fee: The CVtruth Service is provided in exchange for a one-time community fee, inclusive of applicable VAT under German tax law. This fee covers the cost of processing, Peer Reviewer matching, and delivery of one personalized CV review. CVtruth reserves the right to update pricing for future Service offerings. However, the price applicable to each order will be clearly displayed at the time of payment.

Payment Processor: Payments are securely processed via third-party providers, including Stripe. CVtruth does not collect or store payment details such as credit card numbers. Users are subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy and terms of service when completing transactions.

Due Date and Confirmation: Payment is due in full at the time of order placement. The User will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of payment and initiation of the review process.

Currency: All prices are quoted in euros (€) and are payable in that currency unless otherwise stated.

Invoices: Users may request an invoice for tax or record-keeping purposes by contacting CVtruth via the contact email provided.

6. Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, Refunds and Cancellation
‍
Satisfaction Guarantee: Our satisfaction guarantee is designed to protect both Users and Peer Reviewers. If something goes wrong, we’ll make it right — but we also believe in fair use.

If the User is dissatisfied with their review, they may request a full refund within 72 hours of delivery by submitting a request using the web form provided in the delivery message.

Dissatisfaction must relate to one or more of the following:

• The review was not delivered within the stated scope (e.g., missing or significantly shorter than expected, off-topic content).
• The review fails to address the content of the CV in a constructive or meaningful way.
• The review demonstrates a lack of professionalism, violates ethical standards, or includes inappropriate commentary.
• The reviewer appears to have ignored substantial sections of the submitted CV without explanation.

Dissatisfaction based solely on subjective disagreement with the reviewer’s opinion will not automatically entitle the User to a refund, unless there is evidence of low-quality or unprofessional conduct.

CVtruth will assess each request individually and may offer clarification, full refund, or other resolution, depending on the circumstances. The standard processing time is up to three (3) business days (Germany), but CVtruth may extend this period if necessary. The User will be informed of any delay.

No Refunds After Acceptance or Silence: If the User does not submit a refund request within 72 hours of delivery or explicitly confirms satisfaction, the order is deemed accepted, and no refunds will be issued.

Partial Refund Before Peer Reviewer Assignment: During the Peer Reviewer matching stage—before a Peer Reviewer is assigned—the User may cancel their order by written request and receive a 50% refund. Once a Peer Reviewer is assigned, the service is considered in progress, and no cancellation is possible under this clause. The processing time for such inquiries is usually up to three (3) business days (Germany), but this period may be extended by CVtruth if necessary. The User will be informed of any extension in a timely manner.

Missing Information from the User: If the User fails to provide the necessary information (e.g., their CV or other required inputs) within three (3) calendar days of payment, CVtruth reserves the right to cancel the order and issue a 50% refund without prior notice.

Non-Delivery: If, for any reason, CVtruth fails to deliver the review within the timeline specified in Section 3 and no communication has been made regarding a delay, the User is entitled to request a full refund. The processing time for such inquiries is usually up to two (2) business days (Germany), but this period may be extended by CVtruth if necessary. The User will be informed of any extension in a timely manner.

Cancellation by CVtruth: CVtruth reserves the right to cancel an order prior to delivery due to Peer Reviewer unavailability or technical issues. In such cases, the User will receive a full refund.

Binding Agreement Upon Payment: Once payment has been completed, the Agreement becomes binding, and the review process is initiated. As this is a custom digital service that begins immediately, the statutory right of withdrawal under § 356 (5) BGB does not apply once the review has commenced.

7. Disclaimers

Disclaimer on Hiring Results: CVtruth does not control how Users apply the peer recommendations provided, which jobs they choose to pursue, or how they perform in interviews and other stages of the job search process. Accordingly, CVtruth as well as Peer Reviewers do not guarantee job placement, interview invitations, or any specific professional outcome as a result of using the Service. The review is intended to offer helpful feedback to foster Users in obtaining a job, not to guarantee job placements without objective reasoning.

Responsibility for User-Generated Content: CVtruth bears no responsibility for the content of video reviews, which are created by independent Peer Reviewers and any other kind of user-generated content. While CVtruth does not script or edit video reviews, it maintains internal policies to inform and guide Peer Reviewers on best practices. This includes clear expectations around ethical conduct, respectful communication, and the prevention of discriminatory, biased, or inappropriate commentary. If violations are reported, CVtruth will take appropriate action, including Peer Reviewer removal from the community.

Peer Reviewer Expertise Disclaimer: Peer Reviewers are private individuals with professional experience in relevant fields and involvement in hiring processes at their companies. They are not acting in an official capacity as recruiters, HR professionals, or representatives of any employer. Their feedback represents personal opinion and should be interpreted accordingly.

Subjective Nature of Feedback: The review reflects the individual perspective of the assigned Peer Reviewer. It is based on their specific domain knowledge and experience. Feedback is inherently subjective and may not align with every employer’s expectations or hiring criteria.

Availability Disclaimer: While CVtruth strives for timely service and high-quality delivery, availability of specific Peer Reviewers or features is not guaranteed. Temporary delays or substitutions may occur due to Peer Reviewer capacity, technical issues, or operational needs.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, CVtruth and members of its Peer Reviewer community (“Peer Reviewers”) shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service, reliance on the feedback provided, or any decisions made based on the review content.

The feedback delivered through CVtruth reflects the personal opinions and professional experiences of individual Peer Reviewers. While CVtruth applies internal policies to vet and approve Peer Reviewers based on relevance and integrity, the Service does not guarantee that all feedback will be comprehensive, error-free, or universally applicable.

Users acknowledge that the review is intended as peer input and subjective advice—not formal consulting or career counseling. As such, Users are responsible for deciding whether to fully implement, partially consider, or disregard the recommendations.

The use of the Service and application of feedback is at the User’s discretion and judgment.

8. Data Handling and Privacy

Data Collection and Purpose: CVtruth collects only the data strictly necessary to deliver the Service—primarily the User’s CV and email address. Optional data, such as portfolio links or social media profiles, may be included at the User’s discretion but are not required.

User Anonymity Options: Users may submit their CV in full, minimised, or partially anonymised form (e.g., hiding names or contact details). In such cases, CVtruth will inform the assigned Peer Reviewer about the limited data provided.

Confidentiality of Video Reviews: All video reviews are confidential and accessible only to:

• The User who placed the order
• The assigned Peer Reviewer
• Authorized CVtruth employees (for quality control and support purposes only)

No video content is published, shared externally, or reused for training or marketing purposes without the User’s explicit written consent.

Peer Reviewer Anonymity: To ensure privacy and unbiased feedback, Peer Reviewers remain anonymous.

Data Storage and Security: All data is stored securely in accordance with applicable German and EU data protection laws (including the GDPR). CVtruth employs technical and organisational measures to protect User data from unauthorised access, misuse, or loss.

Data Retention: User-submitted data, including video reviews, will be stored for a limited duration necessary to fulfil the service and for support purposes. After this period, CVtruth will anonymise or delete the data, unless longer retention is required by law.

No Third-Party Sharing: CVtruth does not sell, rent, or share personal User data with third parties for marketing or any unrelated purposes.

User Consent: By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, Users confirm their understanding and acceptance of CVtruth’s data handling practices.

9. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

This agreement is governed by German law. Any disputes should be resolved amicablythrough joint mediation within 90 business days. If unresolved, the case will be brought tothe courts in Berlin, Germany.

10. Service-Specific Clauses

Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between CVtruth and the User regarding the use of the Service and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, or agreements—whether oral or written—relating to its subject matter.

Any marketing materials, pre-sale communications, or informational content provided prior to purchase are for informational purposes only and do not represent a guarantee of results or performance. Such materials shall not be interpreted as binding commitments by CVtruth.

Validity of Remaining Clauses: Should any provision of this Agreement be deemed invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a competent authority, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Amendments to the Agreement: CVtruth reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time after the delivery of the ordered service. Users are encouraged to download and retain a copy of the version applicable at the time of their order for reference. Changes do not apply retroactively to services already rendered.

Language Clause: The original version of these Terms & Conditions is in English. In the event of any discrepancy between translated versions and the English version, the English version shall prevail.
